One Graduate’s Story

“I was born in the country of Jamaica. I was raised in Queens New York, where I completed high school and then began to drift into the streets of darkness.

Being shifted from place to place, I began spiraling out of control. I became a profound car thief. Owning my own chop shops from NYC to Alabama. Yes, traveling the world!! All of this “worldly” glory finally took me on a path I’ll never forget. It took me to prison!!!

I spent 14 years of my life behind bars, which broke me. I broke down and asked God if He was really “real”. I prayed and prayed and asked God to forgive me of all my sins. A year later my case was overturned and the streets were under my feet again. After wandering, LIGHT GUIDED ME TO AGAPE where people were willing to teach me how to help myself physically, spiritually, and mentally. I was told by one of the members about WorkFaith Birmingham and Serving You Ministries. I joined the WorkFaith Birmingham workshop and learned how to accurately complete a job application, write a resume and cover letter, and even learned more about the computer. I truly enjoyed the Bible studies that were taught by Keith Stanley, who blessed me with his teachings.

I’d like to tell others who are hesitant to take this workshop that you will truly be blessed if you come to WorkFaith classes!”
