B2C

a new opportunity to empower Birmingham

Since 2014, you have empowered nearly 1,000 people with the skills, ethics, and competencies to succeed in the workforce. In order to strengthen two key components to Workfaith Birmingham, mentorship and local church involvement, we are excited to announce Bridge to Careers, a new initiative for 2021.

Our Partnership with New Rising Star

B2C builds on a key relationship with New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. Since WorkFaith began in 2014, NRS has shared our passion for community transformation through work and faith. God has blessed our partnership and has also provided a new opportunity to empower Birmingham.

The Story Of B2C

B2C began with a group of young men playing basketball at New Rising Star. Pastor Thomas Beavers and his staff developed relationships with this group of 18-24-year-olds and identified a significant need for career-track employment. Together, we began to explore how NRS & WFB could build bridges for these young men to thrive in careers that produce economic stability.

Our Vision for 2021

These bridges must be supported by a strong foundation of partnerships with various organizations in addition to WFB & NRS. Business owners and hiring managers need employees that are ready to contribute to their companies. Vocational education programs need motivated students to enroll in preparation for careers. Birmingham needs a generation of young men to flourish in the workforce.
