Workshops

Our Workshops

WorkFaith Birmingham is a collection of passionate, dedicated, and faith-driven individuals. Our focus is on providing the vulnerable in our community with ways to find work, build their skills, and discover meaningful careers that set them on the right path for the rest of their lives.

What You Will Learn

As a participant in our two-week workshop, you will be provided with the skills and insight needed to succeed in each stage of your career, from your first interview through to keeping your job and progressing in your career. 2. Learn how to fill out applications correctly

  3. Learn how to write a resumé

  4. Learn the best practices to get a job

  5. Learn how to interview well and pursue the desired job

  6. Learn how to keep a job

  7. Learn how to move forward in career development

How To Get Started

If you’d like to sign up for our program, step one is to attend our informational meetings. These take place the Wednesday before the start of each program, and at this point, you can apply to be a part of the next workshop and be interviewed by our team to establish whether we’re a good fit for you. Here are the steps to follow:

1) Carefully review the eligibility requirements above. Call our office if you have questions about eligibility (205-545-5000).

2) If possible, attend an information meeting the Wednesday before the class begins. Call our office for the date of the next meeting and to sign up. (If you cannot attend a meeting, call our office to schedule a time to come by and meet with us and pick up an application.)

3) At the information meeting you will learn about the program, fill out an application, and be interviewed by a WorkFaith staff member.

4) Once your application is reviewed and you have been interviewed, you will officially be enrolled in the program.

Important: Missing any part of the two-weeks will require you to drop out of the workshop and reschedule for another one. Make sure you don't have any scheduling conflicts that will prevent you from attending each of the 10 days of the workshop.
